The Ancients
Lord Nuaran - The Founder
The founder of the Ancients. He was the one who sounded the call, and asked them to gather together. He was the one who nearly every other Ancient has some connection to. His friendly personality and bright smile has earned him a great many friends, and it is only towards some of his fellow Ancients that his smile falters. He deals with relations and diplomacy towards other continents. His eyes and hair constantly shift colors in a perpetual cycle unless he focuses on to still it. When he does, his eyes go golden eyes and hair blonde, which are assumed to be their natural colors.
Lord Vismay - The Peacekeeper
The best friend of Nuaran, and a founding member of the Ancients. His demeanor is very neutral towards most people, and his dry sarcasm seems to pass over some. His voice can have a calming effect, or the opposite, on those who hear it. He remains if Firgrat a lot, and is largely the one who deals with the organization of the Grey and Green Protectors. The training of the Silver Protectors is more communal, though he is responsible for the staff selected for the task.
Lady Irosia - Friend of the Unfortunate
Perhaps the most well known and beloved Ancient. One of the founding members. Her movements are precise and she seems like a statue brought to life. She makes sure the unfortunate are not neglected. Her official position is has to do with the welfare of the people. She is often seen in the lower layers of Firgrat. Visiting beggars and brothels alike. The Orphanage Of Firgrat was originally her idea, though supported by the whole council. She created the flower, commonly called "Irosia's blossoms", that glow during nighttime, growing everywhere where there are paths people take.
Lord Hassimir - The Titan
One of the original Ancients, and the husband of Istar. This mountain of a man is known for his booming laughter, easygoing demeanor, and steadfast loyalty... and never wearing a shirt. He has not been seen in Firgrat for almost 150 years. Back when he was active, he would visit taverns and drink with the warriors and whoever happened to be present. He is the one of the unofficial patrons of the adventurers guild, and though he had no direct hand in their founding, he is who many young adventurers wish to emulate.
Lady Istar - The Laughing Flower
One of the original Ancients, and the wife of Hassimir. She has not been seen in Firgrat for almost 150 years. She is always smiling and always ready with a joke or teasing to lighten the mood. Always cheerful and ready for adventure. The willowy woman often came with her husband to taverns when they were active, drinking and celebrating with the common people. Her laughter, and her songs especially, are a constant source of joy to anyone who hears them. A source of inspiration to many adventurers, and bards. Though her specialty always seemed to be bawdy tavern songs, not something many bards wish to emulate.
Lady Mavia - The Havoc Keeper
A woman of small stature, yet great power. Some consider her more beast than woman and indeed she is ferocious both in battle and out of it. Obsessed with strength, she is rarely present in Firgrat, instead traveling into far flung continents to find whatever she seeks. Rumors of the so called "Church of Havoc" spread far and wide, and there are rumors she rules a "continent of beasts" somewhere far to the west. She only really listens to the people she loves, or the creatures that impress her through strength alone. If she does not pay attention, small chaos happens wherever she goes. One of the three "youngest" Ancients and it is debatable if she can be considered a full member.
Lord Malegon - The Dragon
The brother of Finia, and the treasurer of the Ancients. It is not known, if he was originally a dragon or not but he does have a humanoid form. In this humanoid form, scale like patters cover most of his skin, and seem to shift and glow as he moves. Not one to speak his mind immediately, but to listen and judge. He handles matters of judgment with his sister, and also handles the treasury. One of the three "youngest" Ancients and it is debatable if he can be considered a full member.
Lady Finia - The Fire Witch
The sister of Malegon, and considered the greatest witch in Wocdes, or so the rumors say, though some claim the Silver Witch Asha Versailes could be her match. Her craft deals mostly with fire, and she leads the Fire Witches, a group or "coven" who are said to all be her daughters, but the truth of this rumor is known only to the Ancients. Perhaps she is a dragon who became a witch, or a witch who became brothers with a dragon. Not many know. Her arms are covered in intricate patterns on her skin that glow like fire. She deals with matters of judgement with her brother. One of the three "youngest" Ancients and it is debatable if she can be considered a full member.
Emperor Kaelith - The Infernal Emperor
Some say he is the oldest demon, but whatever that is true or not, only he knows. Kaelith can change appearance as they wish, and leans into this a lot. In their presence, mortals find their tongues betraying them, speaking truths they meant to hideāor desires they thought buried. His eyes are like molten lava with an ever-shifting glow. They remain, despite his form as does his title "The Infernal Emperor" no matter what form he takes. Kaelith enjoys the confusion, and wears bodies like costumes. He likes mischief, and is thrilled everyone agreed to call him Emperor only after a bit of prodding, since every other Ancient is addressed just as a lowly Lord or Lady. Something that especially annoys Lord Orcold. Currently, he unfortunately needs to spend most of his time in the demon realm, looking after his kin, though he dreams of longer stays in Wocdes.
Lord Orcold - The God
A cranky and isolated member who hates most of the other Ancients. In some cases, the feeling is mutual. Joined out of necessity and is never present in Firgrat. He claims to be a god, and asks to be worshipped as such, but he has basically no presence in Firgrat. Especially Emperor Kaelith, Lady Elri, Lord Abalf and Lord Sheo seem to earn his ire: one due to the title ascribed to him, and the others for not caring one bit what people call them and acting in a manner unbefitting on their station.
Lord Sheo - The Battlemaster
One of the two among the Ancients who takes on an older form. Commonly he goes about in the form of an older man with white hair and white eyes, wearing black robes and a cloak. He can pass easily for a normal old man under most circumstances. Lord Sheo has a habit of sticking his nose into every interesting affair he finds, traveling by foot even though he could travel though magic, and his periods of boredom tend to lead to chaos on a global scale. He of course has his reasons to his nosiness, even if the reasons are only clear to him. Lords Sheo and Abalf together with Lady Elri are known to get up "mischief" whenever they get together.
Lord Abalf - The Archmage
Considered the most desirable person in Anwol by simple virtue of his looks alone. He is gorgeous to a otherworldly degree, or to an unnatural degree or so people claim, perhaps due to his black scalera. He is also largely oblivious to it or so it seems to most people. Curious by nature but ignorant of almost everything, aside from magic which he has dedicated the countless millennia of his life to. He is in high demand, both in Firgrat and elsewhere. Therefore travels a lot, but often does so with magic, cutting traveling time to a minimum. MOst of the other Ancients are convinced that Lord Sheo and Lady Elri pull him along to whatever "mischief" they are on about whenever they get together. Only the three know whatever that is true or not.
Lady Elri - The Blademistress
The other Ancient who lets a bit of age show in how she presents herself, even if it only manifests in laugh lines on her face. She is the mistress of blades and it is said she can cut anything. In unguarded moments, if she does not pay attention or is distracted, her movements seem to create a natural after image no matter what she does. She has a reputation for being promiscuous, and rumors about her close relations to Lord Sheo and Lord Abalf are full of speculation, some even suggesting the three are an item altogether. She laughs at all such rumors and and feeds them with public shows of affection the two other Ancients just go along with. Yet, the truth is known only to the three of them.
Lord Veyth - The Guardian
An unknow member of an unknown origin and race, guarding something somewhere well hidden. What and where, only the Ancients know. He never leaves his post, and it not involved in worldly affairs, his only concern is for his duty. The other Ancients have doubts about the Guardian for none of them knew of him or had ever heard of him, but Lord Sheo assured them that everything was fine, apparently knowing Veyth from somewhere.
