The every day currency in Firgrat is different coins made of various metals.
NOTE: Nothing is locked in stone. May develop more later.
Iron Bits – Square coins made of iron
Value: 1 iron bit, which is the base currency
Iron bits are used for buying basic items like a loaf of bread or a drink at the tavern.
Bronze Marks – Circular coins made of bronze
Value: 1 bronze mark = 10 iron bits
Bronze mark are for purchases, like a full meal, tools, or basic clothing. A handful of bronze marks could pay for a night at a regular inn.
Silver Marks – Circular coins made of silver
Value: 1 silver mark = 10 bronze marks = 100 iron bits
Silver marks are used for expensive purchases, like weapons, fine clothing, or a week's worth of provisions. Most rents are some silver marks.
Gold Marks – Circular coins made of gold.
Value: 1 gold mark = 10 silver marks = 100 bronze marks = 1000 iron bits
Reserved for high-value transactions, like buying land or a house, rare (but not magical) items, or large quantities of goods. Only the wealthy typically carry these.
Diamond Marks – Diamond-shaped coins made of a rare, shining metal.
Value: 1 diamond mark = 10 gold marks = 100 silver marks = 1000 bronze marks = 10 000 iron bits
The most valuable currency that most people never see. Used for purchases like estates, magical artifacts, or large-scale trade deals.
